About Sian Kaan by Van

Our tour to Sian Kaan starts with a hotel pick up for each of the tour participants. In our 14 seats van only 12 passengers can be assigned for this tour to ensure your comfort. Once the pickup is completed, we head to Tulum and during the trip our guide will give us details about the activities we will do during the tour. Arriving in Tulum, we will make a 10 minutes stop in case someone needs to use the bathroom and stretch their legs. After that stop the vans head towards the Sian Kaan entrance and will ride for 50 kms to PUNTA ALLEN where the boats will be waiting to take us to the first place of our tour, la Piscina Natural, “the Natural Pool” which is characterized by its shallow crystal clear water and white sand. We will stay there for about 15 minutes to then continue the tour on the boats. We continue our tour on the boat until CAYO CULEBRAS and during the trip we will be able to see dolphins, turtles, manta rays, manatees and starfish. It is important to mention that these animals are free in their natural environment and sometimes it is not possible to see them but the chances to do so are still high since our guides and captains are very experienced. In case it is not possible to locate them on the way there we will look for them again on the way back towards the restaurant. Once in the CAYO CULEBRAS area we will visit the bird island to observe bird species that live there and take pictures. Near this place is the REEF where we will enjoy a 45 minutes snorkel tour where it is mandatory to use life vest for your safety and the reef preservation. Once the snorkel activity ends we will go to the restaurant by boat where the food will be ready for everybody’s delight. After lunch we will begin our way back to PLAYA DEL CARMEN. The estimated time of arrival is approximately 6PM.

  • By far the best experience of our trip to Mexico. The Tour Operator was Mexxtremo. Value was excellent, communication efficient and pick up early at our Hotel. Our Guide was Francesca and our driver was introduced to us as " the Grandfather". Despite our being the only English speaking members of our mini bus group Francesca went above and beyond to ensure that we had as much information as our Spanish speaking fellow tourists and her passion and enthusiasm was a joy. Yes the road to Punta Allen is long and bumpy - so what, this is a Biosphere Reserve in the Tropics not a Disney Theme Park. We saw birds and sealife - okay, not the whole possible list but, hey, they are not there to perform for tourists and neither should they be. What we did see, the dolphins, the Frigate birds, the Tiger Herons, the Turtles etc. enthralled us. The sky was blue, the sea was azure, no one else around at the time apart from our small tour group, the boats were fast, bumpy and exciting - we loved every minute. The food was tasty, I had the fish and there was a freshly cut coconut for us to savour as dessert, what more could you want? Francesca sounded disappointed that she couldn\'t find a crocodile - I once saw one wet the tourist bridge with its feet in a leap at a German Zoo so I wasn\'t in the least disappointed!!We swam in a shallow clear sea and snorkelled in the ocean. The Mangroves were a particular treat, surreal and overwhelming, you need to see them. Our drive back was slow and careful over those bumpy roads, at one point a convoy passed us and the first one held up a sign saying "Goodbye Our Leader" which I took to be a comment on our slow and careful driver - Grandfather , that\'s fine by me.If you have a soul you could not fail to love Sian Ka\'an.HH2, Bedfordshire.-Tripadvisor.
